Ahalya - Handloom Lakshadeepam Kanchipuram Pure Silk Saree (Authentic Pure Zari & Silk Mark Certified)
Classic, alluring, and undeniably celestial, Ahalya, our handloom Lakshadeepam Kanchipuram pure silk saree in midnight blue, is a creation woven to captivate. Crafted meticulously from pure mulberry silk and pure zari, this masterpiece is destined to become a cherished gem in your wardrobe, an heirloom of splendour that will adorn you with unmatched grace at every grand occasion.
The Enchanting Udal (Saree Body): The saree’s body unfolds as a deep midnight-blue canvas illuminated with "pure zari muthu kattam checks". Each check encloses delicately woven "threadwork cruciform florals (four-petalled, round-cross blossoms / coloquially called as Lavanga poo Buttas)" in an exquisite orchid purple forming the quintessential Lakshadeepam pattern. The harmony of geometry, sheen, and colour gives the body a refined yet enchanting aura.
The Majestic Karai (Saree Borders): The contrast "5-inch Ner korvai borders" in a vibrant spanish red (shade of pink-red) unfurl with scintillating brilliance. Two recurring horizontal bands woven with "Annapakshi and elephant motifs" alternate gracefully, divided with stately "zari pillars". The divided field carries elegant "kuyil kann motifs (diamond motifs without central dot)" enclosed within "chevron strips". Each band is further distinguished by subtle "kayaru lines framed in orchid-purple strips outlined with green", creating a vibrant interplay of colour. The top edge is crowned with "leaf anklets embellished with neli motifs", while the bottom edge finishes with a "serene green selvedge", showcasing the weaver’s masterful artistry.
The Resplendent Mundhani / Thalaippu (Saree Pallu): The contrast Spanish red pallu emerges like a river of gold, shimmering with orchestrated finesse. It flows through a sequence of small to medium horizontal bands: one adorned with "Kamalam buttas divided by diamond pillars set within chevron outlines"; another embellished with "regal peacock motifs intertwined with floral vines"; a third enriched with "ornate chakram buttas"; and a fourth woven with lyrical "paisley vines" held in delicate "muthu seer lines". The divided field of the pallu gleams with auspicious "Arai Madam buttas", deepening the pallu’s celestial aura. Completing the pallu are sizeable "leaf anklets segmented with unique paneer sombu motifs", giving the composition a distinct and graceful finish.
The Elegant Blouse: Comes with a refined Spanish red unstitched blouse, woven with "brocade leaf motifs" arranged in a half-repeat pattern along a border that mirrors the saree, ensuring perfect harmony from drape to detail.

COTTON CARE
• It is advisable to only dry-clean our Sarees. Use mild detergent to hand wash Cotton Sarees.
WASH, DRY & IRON PURE SILK THE RIGHT WAY
• For first three washes, dry cleaning is advisable for silk fabrics.
• If ever silk is washed in water, ensure it is washed in soft lukewarm water using a good neutral soap only.
• Squeeze lightly by hand to remove water after washing.
• Always dry the silk in shade only on a flat surface instead of hanging.
• Use low to medium heat while ironing.
• Always iron silk on the reverse side.
• Never spray water to dampen silk before ironing as it may cause water spots on the fabric.
• Do not wash the stains with water, instead give it for dry cleaning.
STORE PURE SILKS THE RIGHT WAY
• Store your Silk in a clean and dry environment using Cotton bags; avoid plastic covers.
• Avoid direct contact with wood.
• Protect silk from insects, dust, excessive moisture and light.
• Periodically (every 3-6 months) expose silks to fresh air and store after reversing the folds.
• Wrap Silk Sarees in cotton cloth or brown paper to avoid blackening of zari.
• Instead of Naphthalene balls, keep silica gel sachets in storage racks.
