Subtle, elegant, and soulful, Iravati, our handloom borderless Kanchipuram pure silk saree  in a serene dark Byzantium (a deep, rich purple with hints of red), colloquially known among Kanchipuram weavers as Bhuvana colour, is pure charm. Woven from pure mulberry silk and pure zari, the drape is lightweight, fluid, and perfect for intimate festivities and days when you seek simplicity adorned with heritage.

The Enchanting Udal (Saree Body):
The body of this exquisite saree comes alive with delicately woven "winged elephant motifs, rendered in pure zari" with intricate ornamental detailing. Arranged in vertical columns in a half-repeat pattern, the motifs cascade in a gentle stagger, creating depth, rhythm, and a captivating visual harmony across the drape. Against the rich, dark Byzantium base, the zari shimmers softly with every fold, catching the light in subtle, enchanting glimmers. The edges are finished with "slender pure-zari selvedge lines", offering a whisper of definition while preserving the seamless elegance of the borderless aesthetic.

The Resplendent Mundhani / Thalaippu (Saree Pallu):
The pallu is subtle yet richly detailed, composed of two horizontally aligned pure-zari bands that rest beautifully on the dark Byzantium base. Within these radiant bands unfold a series of ornate motifs: "grand paisley–kamalam designs followed by twin diamond patterns, each diamond enclosing a stylised three-lobed leaf delicately ornamented with tiny heart-shaped scrolls that bring a soft vibrance in alternation". These motifs are rhythmically "divided by checked pillars embellished with coin buttas", creating a structured flow. The zari bands are "bordered by classic chevron strips and further enclosed within thandavalam lines", enhancing the geometry and traditional strength of the pallu. The central field of the pallu carries "kamalam buttas" arranged in a half-repeat pattern, forming an effect reminiscent of a grid of kolam dots scattered against a night sky - gentle, sacred, and beautifully harmonic.

The Elegant Blouse:
The saree comes with an unstitched plain blouse in matching dark Byzantium color. Finished with slender zari lines along the edges, the blouse offers ample scope for custom embroidery should you wish to personalise your ensemble.

COTTON CARE

• It is advisable to only dry-clean our Sarees. Use mild detergent to hand wash Cotton Sarees.

WASH, DRY & IRON PURE SILK THE RIGHT WAY

• For first three washes, dry cleaning is advisable for silk fabrics.
• If ever silk is washed in water, ensure it is washed in soft lukewarm water using a good neutral soap only.
• Squeeze lightly by hand to remove water after washing.
• Always dry the silk in shade only on a flat surface instead of hanging.
• Use low to medium heat while ironing.
• Always iron silk on the reverse side.
• Never spray water to dampen silk before ironing as it may cause water spots on the fabric.
• Do not wash the stains with water, instead give it for dry cleaning.

STORE PURE SILKS THE RIGHT WAY

• Store your Silk in a clean and dry environment using Cotton bags; avoid plastic covers.
• Avoid direct contact with wood.
• Protect silk from insects, dust, excessive moisture and light.
• Periodically (every 3-6 months) expose silks to fresh air and store after reversing the folds.
• Wrap Silk Sarees in cotton cloth or brown paper to avoid blackening of zari.
• Instead of Naphthalene balls, keep silica gel sachets in storage racks.
